My name is Gayeon Kim (pronounced Gah-Yeon Kim), and I am a junior majoring in BFA 3D Animation and Visual Effects at the School of Visual Arts. Born and raised in Korea, I am now studying in New York. I specialize in Lookdev and Lighting, creating characters and environment scenes with compelling stories, and applying textures that best convey them. I really enjoy adding details and narrative through texturing and lighting, crafting elements that capture and hold viewers’ attention.

I enjoy drawing, painting, watching sports like baseball, and traveling. I take inspiration from the world around me when I travel, and I also love learning about different cultures and languages. I love to discuss films as well, including behind-the-scenes details and alternative endings. Many films have influenced me into being passionate about this field, and I'm especially a big fan of director Park Chan-wook and his Vengeance Trilogy. I also like reading novels, listening to music, and capturing moments with my film camera.
